The Golden State Warriors remain the favorites among major bookmakers across Europe to win the 2017-18 NBA title more than a month into the new season.

The defending champions are currently priced at 8/13 with Paddy Power to retain the prestigious Larry O'Brien Trophy. The powerhouse club featuring All-Stars Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson had some surprise struggles early in the season but have since regained their composure to seize the lead in the Western Conference.

The Warriors won their second NBA title in three seasons after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers four games to one in the last NBA Finals.

The Cavaliers, meanwhile, can be backed at 8/1 with Sportingbet to regain the NBA title. Despite having a star-studded roster featuring LeBron James, Kevin Love, Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade, the defending Eastern Conference champions struggled at one point that included four consecutive defeats. They have since recovered are now inching closer to the Detroit Pistons in the Central Division.

Oddsmakers also have high hopes for the Boston Celtics despite losing new recruit Gordon Hayward to a season-ending leg injury in their opening game. They are currently the hottest team in the NBA and they own the best record in the league as well.

Kyrie Irving has been instrumental in the team's early success and the All-Star guard is playing good music with Al Horford, Jaylen Brown and rookie Jayson Tatum in Beantown. The Celtics are the most successful NBA franchise with 17 championships and their last title came in 2008.

The Houston Rockets are also making waves early in the season with James Harden unleashing MVP-like performances game after game. The All-Star guard leads the league in scoring with over 30 points per game. Eric Gordon is also playing well while Chris Paul's return from injury is expected to further boost Houston's quest for its first NBA crown in over two decades.

Also expected to contend for the NBA title this season are the San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder and Washington Wizards.
