CSKA Moscow and defending champion Fenerbahce have emerged as the early favorites to win the Euroleague title this season.

CSKA is a perennial Final Four participant and placed third last season. The Russian giants signed 2014 Euroleague MVP Sergio Rodriguez in the offseason to fill the void left by Milos Teodosic, who will play for the Los Angeles Clippers in the upcoming NBA season. Rodriguez will team up with holdovers Nando De Colo, Vitaly Fridzon and Cory Higgins in CSKA's backcourt.

CSKA also signed Othello Hunter to make up for James Augustine's departure. Other key signings for the Russian club are Leo Westermann and Will Clyburn.

Fenerbahce, meanwhile, kept the core of its champion team including Pero Antic, Kostas Sloukas, James Nunnally, Jan Vesely, Bobby Dixon and Luigi Datome.

The Turkish club, however, lost Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Sacramento Kings. Among their new recruits are Jason Thompson, Marko Guduric, Nicolo Melli and Sinan Guler.

Expected to give CSKA and Fenerbahce a run for the crown this season are Real Madrid and Greek giants Panathinaikos and Olympiacos.

Real Madrid finished fourth last season and head coach Pablo Laso brings back reigning Euroleague MVP Sergio Llull.

Also returning are Anthony Randolph, Rudy Fernandez, Luka Doncic, Felipe Reyes and Gustavo Ayon. The Spanish giants also beefed up in the offseason by signing Facundo Campazzo, Ognjen Kuzmic and Fabien Causeur.

Panathinaikos missed out on a Final Four spot last season so it's determined to do better this year. The Greens had a busy offseason, bringing in Matt Lojeski, Marcus Denmon, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Ian Vougioukas and Lukas Lekavicius. Among the key returnees are Chris Singleton, KC Rivers, Nikos Pappas, James Gist and Nick Calathes.

Olympiacos lost several players from the team that finished runner-up to Fenerbahce last season. To make up for their departure, the Reds signed Hollis Thompson, Brian Roberts, Jamel McLean, Kim Tillie and Janis Strelnieks to join forces with holdovers Vassilis Spanoulis, Nikola Milutinov, Georgios Printezis, Kostas Papanikolaou and Vangelis Mantzaris.
