Boston Red Sox at Minnesota Twins (01:10 BST on Wednesday)

The Boston Red Sox are aiming to make it two wins in a row over the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. The Red Sox (40-34) kicked off their three-game series with a 2-0 win on Monday. JD Martinez had an RBI single in the first inning before Xander Bogaerts drove in another run via a double in the ninth as Boston extended their winning streak to six games. Rick Porcello took care of business on defence by pitching seven solid innings where he gave up four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts. The Red Sox remain in third place in the American League East behind the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays while the AL Central-best Twins suffered their second consecutive defeat to drop to 47-24. David Price (4-2) is hoping to duplicate Porcello’s dominance when he starts for Boston in this game. The veteran lefty lasted just 1 1/3 innings in their 7-6 home win over Texas last Thursday. He was pulled out after surrendering five hits and six runs on 49 pitches. Michael Pineda (4-3) will start for the Twins. The Dominican right-hander is coming off three consecutive no-decisions and hasn’t picked up a win since May 21. We expect the Red Sox to again emerge victorious in Minneapolis.

Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs (01:00 BST on Wednesday)

The Chicago White Sox head to Wrigley Field on Tuesday for their two-game Interleague series against crosstown rivals Chicago Cubs. The White Sox (34-36) are aiming to get back on track after suffering back-to-back home defeats against the New York Yankees. Jose Abreu, Tim Anderson, Yonder Alonso and Leury Garcia will lead Chicago in the opener of a an eight-game trip that includes stops in Texas and Boston. It remains uncertain if Yoan Moncada will suit up after he was pulled out in their 10-3 loss to the Yankees on Sunday after aggravating a back injury. Ivan Nova (3-5) will take the mound for the White Sox in this contest. The Dominican right-hander is 0-1 in his last four starts and hasn’t picked up a win since May 22. He last pitched in their 5-4 win over the Yankees on Thursday where he struck out five and surrendered six hits and four runs in 5 2/3 innings. The Cubs (39-32) are also determined to bounce back after concluding their seven-game trip with a 3-2 loss at Los Angeles on Sunday.  Javier Baez, Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant are expected to lead the hosts, who have lost five of their last seven games. Taking the ball for the Cubs is Cole Hamels (6-2), who is aiming to make it three wins in as many starts. The 35-year-old southpaw struck out nine and gave up six hits in seven scoreless innings in their 10-1 rout at Colorado last Wednesday.
