New York Yankees at Chicago White Sox (19:10 BST)

The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox wrap up their four-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field today. The Yankees beat the White Sox 8-4 on Saturday night after losing the first two games of the series. Gleyber Torres hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs while Gary Sanchez tallied three RBI to lead the visitors, who scored four runs in the fourth inning. Cameron Maybin also homered for the Yankees (42-27). The win snapped New York’s three-game skid and allowed them to overtake Tampa Bay at the top of the American League East standings. James McCann hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning to pace the White Sox (34-35), whose three-game winning run came to an end. Torres and Sanchez along with DJ LeMahieu and Luke Voit are again expected to lead the Yankees in the absence of injured stars Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, who are both rehabilitating in the minors. New York are also without Greg Bird, pitcher Luis Severino and a bunch of other players. The Yankees boosted their roster on Saturday by acquiring home run leader Edwin Encarnacion from the Seattle Mariners for teenage pitcher minor league pitcher Juan Then plus cash. James Paxton (3-3) is hoping to pick up his first win in almost two months when he starts for the Yankees in the finale. The 30-year-old lefty was credited with their 10-4 home loss to the New York Mets last Tuesday after giving up seven hits and six runs with just one strikeout in 2 2/3 innings. Paxton last won a game on April 21 at San Francisco. McCann, meanwhile, will team up with Jose Abreu, Tim Anderson and Yonder Alonso in their quest to lead Chicago back on track. Yoan Moncada (back) remains questionable after missing their last three games. Odrisamer Despaigne (0-1) is scheduled to make another start for the White Sox after making his Major League debut in their 12-1 home beating at the hands of the Washington Nationals last Monday. The Cuban right-hander, who received a call-up from Triple-A affiliate Charlotte Knights, yielded seven hit and three runs and struck out two in six innings. We are backing the Yankees to triumph in the series finale.

Chicago Cubs at Los Angeles Dodgers (00:00 BST on Monday)

The Chicago Cubs are targeting another win over the Los Angeles Dodgers when they conclude their four-game series in LA tonight. The Cubs (39-31) edged the Dodgers 2-1 on Saturday to finally pick up a win after losing the first two games of the series. Anthony Rizzo’s two-run shot off closer Kenley Jansen in the ninth inning sealed the victory for the visitors, who had lost two in a row and four of five entering the contest. The National League-best Dodgers (47-24) took the lead in the fourth inning after Alex Verdugo homered off Cubs starter Yu Darvish, who was booed in his return to Dodger Stadium for the first time since the 2017 World Series. It was Rizzo’s 19th homer of the season. He is expected to lead the Cubs in this duel along with Javier Baez, Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber. Starting for the Cubs is Jose Quintana (4-6), who is coming off back-to-back losses. The Colombian southpaw last pitched at Colorado on Tuesday where he surrendered five hits and four runs and fanned three in 4 2/3 innings as they suffered a 10-3 beating. Quintana is 0-5 in his last seven starts and last picked up a win on May 5 against St Louis. The Dodgers are determined to get back on track and manager Dave Roberts expects better performances from Cody Bellinger, Justin Turner, Max Muncy and Enrique Hernandez. Ryu Hyun-Jin (9-1) will take the mound for LA in the finale. The South Korean lefty had won six in a row before getting a no-decision in their 5-3 road loss to the Los Angeles Angels last Monday where he gave up seven hits and a run and struck out six in six innings. We expect the Dodgers to bounce back in this contest.
