Tyson Fury v Dillian Whyte WBC Heavyweight Title Fight Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions

Dillian Whyte will finally get the title fight he deserves as he prepares to take on Tyson Fury for the WBC heavyweight title later this year.

A date and venue have been confirmed with Wembley Stadium hosting Fury versus Whyte on Saturday, April 23.

Fury is the reigning and defending champion after retaining his belt with an 11th round stoppage of Deontay Wilder back in October 2021.

Whyte has been shouting from the rooftops that he deserves a title shot and will be the next king of the heavyweight division. It has just taken a lot longer than he thought.

The 33-year-old is the WBC interim champion, but he has never fought for the real world title.

Whyte almost saw his chance at fighting Fury ripped away from him when he lost his interim belt following a fifth-round knockout at the hands of Alexander Povetkin in 2020.

He gained his revenge in March 2021 when he stopped the Russian in the fourth round and jumped back in line to fight for the WBC title.

This fight should now see Anthony Joshua have his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk for the WBA, IBF and WBO belts. The winner of Fury versus Whyte could end up fighting Joshua or Usyk at the end of the year.

Fury and Whyte have had their spats in public and on social media, but there is definitely respect between the two fighters.

Fury has even taken himself off social media as he wants to prepare fully for Whyte and give him all the respect he deserves.

I am a big fan of both Fury and Whyte, but I have to admit I feel Fury is the better fighter. The way he showed adversity to beat Wilder twice just shows what kind of champion he is.

Whyte can dig deep and will never quit, but I see Fury ending this one with a knockout in the latter rounds. Back Fury to win this with a 10th round stoppage.

Tyson Fury To Retire After Dillian Whyte Fight?

Tyson Fury: “This is the final fight of my career, I’m retiring after this, $150m in the bank, healthy, young, I’m going to buy a massive yacht abroad. I’m retiring, I’m out, this is my final fight, I’m done. He has definitely shown a white flag today. (After Whyte failed to turn up to the press conference). All this social media stuff, ‘I’m not promoting the fight, I’m not getting involved in mind games.’ He’s given me much more confidence, it’s unbelievable. He’s terrified. He’s definitely showing the white flag in my estimation of this fight. The way he’s going on about it, saying he doesn’t want to go face-to-face, of course, he doesn’t, because he’ll see that fire in my eyes and he’ll think, ‘I’m getting smashed to bits’. That’s what it is, it’s fear, it’s terror. It’s all of the above and I don’t blame him for not being here today. I’m looking to show the people and the boxing fraternity how good I really am, and what better opponent to do it against than a man who’s been calling for the fight for 352 years. He finally gets his shot on the biggest stage, against the biggest champion, on the biggest night. I will not fail, I’m just going to show you how great I really am. I fought some tasty competitors over the years. I know Dillian Whyte, we go back a long way. We go back to like 2012. He’s a tough guy, he’s a good, game fighter. He will bring what he can, and he will try and chin me, that’s a fact. He’s definitely up there with the top 10 fights I’ve had, but we’ll all find out on the night. I could say he could be No 2 or 22, but if he doesn’t perform on the night then he’ll never get the credit for it, or if I demolish him one round, he’ll never get any credit, but if it’s a good fight then he’ll definitely get his credit.”
