Oleksandr Usyk v Daniel Dubois Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions

The last time we saw Oleksandr Usyk in a boxing ring he was stood there bemused as Anthony Joshua addressed the crowd with a nonsensical rant that left a lot of people scratching their heads.

Usyk had just defeated Joshua for a second time on points as he retained his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO & IBO titles as well as adding The Ring belt to his collection.

Joshua then grabbed the mic and started to rant and it seemed to take the attention away from Usyk – well, on August 26 the attention will firmly be on the Ukrainian.

He will be looking to extend his unbeaten professional record to 21 fights. He has won all of his 20 bouts with 13 by knockout and seven by decision.

Only one of his four heavyweight fights has not gone the distance. His first one against Chazz Witherspoon was stopped in the seventh round after Witherspoon was forced to retire.

He has since won points victories over Derek Chisora and Joshua twice.

He takes on Daniel Dubois who is the current WBA (regular) heavyweight champion. Dubois only has one loss on his record and that was back in November 2020 when he was stopped in the 10^th round against Joe Joyce.

His reward for that defeat was a title shot for the WBAS interim belt – which I thought was wrong. He won that and gained the genuine belt in his last fight against Trevor Bryan.

Dubois is a decent fighter, but the way he struggled against Joyce does not fill with me confidence that he can hurt Usyk.

If Joshua could not beat Usyk twice, then Dubois will not get the job done. Back Usyk to go the distance – because he is not a KO merchant at this level – and win on points to retain his belts and move a step closer to a unification bout with Tyson Fury.
