Natasha Jonas v Chris Namus Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions
Saturday night is a big night for British boxing with Amir Khan and Kell Brook finally settling their endless feud by getting in the ring.
It could also be a massive night for Liverpool fighter Natasha Jonas as she attempts to finally become a world champion.
Jonas – who came up short in her last two title fights against Terri Harper and Katie Taylor -will take on Chris Namus for the vacant WBO super welterweight title.
The 37-year-old held Harper to a controversial draw back in August 2020, while she gave a good account of herself in a points decision defeat against Taylor last May. She returned to action in November with a unanimous points decision win over Vaida Masiokaite.
She is a former WBA International super featherweight champion, but victory over Namus will see her win her first official world title.
Jonas should have been fighting Ewa Piatkowska for the belt, but the Polish fighter was forced to withdraw due to illness.
Namus might not be a household name in the UK, but she is definitely no mug. She has won 25 of her 32 professional fights and is a former IBF female junior middleweight champion.
The 34-year-old has been in the ring with the likes of Cecilia Braekhus, Marie-Eve Dicaire and Ema Kozin, but this should be her toughest test yet.
Jonas truly believes she should be a world champion by now. She has won three of her last five bouts – with two of them failing to go the distance.
This is ‘Miss GB’s’ chance to shine on the big stage. I expect her to be the world champion by the end of the night. She is focused on this opportunity, and I feel she is the superior fighter.
With the women fighting two-minute rounds, it is quite difficult to get into enough rhythm to cause an early stoppage. Jonas will grow into this fight, and I expect her to get a knockout win in the seventh round to be crowned the new WBO super welterweight champion.
The late call-up for Namus will put her at a disadvantage and I feel that Jonas will jump on that and use the passionate and vocal crowd to get her the victory.

Natasha Jonas v Chris Namus Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions: Fighter's Predictions
Natasha Jonas: “Nothing’s changed for me. She’s still a tall and rangy opponent and probably more attack-minded than Piatkowska from what I’ve seen. They’re very similar in stature and how they box, but it’s all about me and what I do. It’s a disadvantage to me that she’s a natural middleweight, but it’s an advantage for me that she’s had short notice for the fight. This fight is all about me executing my game plan more than me worrying about hers.
