Josh Taylor v Teofimo Lopez Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions
The last time we saw Josh Taylor in a boxing ring he was involved in a mass robbery.
I know people judge fights differently, but there is no way that Taylor beat Jack Catterall when they locked horns in Glasgow last February.
Taylor got his arm raised when it looked like he had been well beaten by his Chorley opponent. It was definitely a home decision – something that could come back to bite him on the bottom.
The undefeated Scotsman has to travel to New York to take on Brooklyn-born Lopez and Taylor could find himself on the end of a home decision.
If Taylor is to win at the MSG, he will need to knock Lopez out, and seeing as Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Junior were unable to do that, then I cannot see Taylor managing it.
Taylor has won all 19 fights with 13 by knockout and six by decision. Lopez has only tasted defeat once and that was against Kambosos Junior when he lost his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and The Ring lightweight titles.
I used to like Taylor a lot, but the way he acted after the Caterall fight left a sour taste in my mouth. He is a great fighter, but even the best know when they have been beaten and the majority will admit it – he didn’t.
I am backing this fight to go the distance. It would be justice if Taylor outfought Lopez and then lost on points. I am backing the American to be crowned champion on points.
