Jake Paul v Tyron Woodley 2 Boxing Predictions & Tips

I cannot believe I am writing another preview about a fight involving Jake Paul – but here we are.

Jake Paul is not everyone’s cup of tea – mine included – but he is bringing a new audience to the world of boxing.

‘The Problem Child’ is a YouTube sensation with millions of followers, oh yes and he has a big mouth, a very big mouth. He will step into the ring for his fifth fight with an unbeaten record of 4-0.

He should have been fighting Tommy Fury – the brother of actual boxing star Tyson Fury – but Tommy was forced to withdraw and Paul will now face a previous opponent.

Paul and former UFC star Tyron Woodley will step into the ring for the second time. Paul won the first fight on points with the social media influencer taking it 77-75, 78-74 75-77.

I am not sure boxing needs this kind of fight, but until Paul get his mouth shut and he is knocked out, then this is not going away.

Woodley is known for his time in the UFC, where he was the UFC Welterweight Champion after beating Robbie Lawler in 2016. He went on to defend his belt on four occasions before losing the title Kamaru Usman in 2019.

‘The Chosen One’ has since revealed that he chose not to knock Paul out in the first fight because of a shoulder problem, rather than a clause that stated he couldn’t knock him out.

Only Woodley and Paul really know if a clause was included, but Woodley is determined to not let it get to the judges this time.

I backed Woodley last time, and I believe he was embarrassed with the outcome. His career as a professional fighter will be in tatters if he loses again, so I am backing him to finally knock Paul out and set up a third fight that none of us actually want.

Jake Paul v Tyron Woodley: Fighter Predictions

Jake Paul: “I can make $250m from this sport, all I got to do is keep winning. I’d be an idiot to let this slip through my hands, to fumble this bag and the bag I’m about to get. That’s why I’m so f****** serious about this. If I’m sitting there as the little Jake, my dad’s feeding us hamburger helper working for $10 an hour, now I have an opportunity to make $250 million? Little Jake would do anything in the world to get to that and that’s what I’m doing now.”

Tyron Woodley: “My shoulder was f***ing sore. I ain’t going to lie. I wanted to [knock him out] but my shoulder was swollen before and I was just kind of swinging on pure thug energy from MMA, not just giving a hell. When you watch the punch, I punched him, he sprung off the ropes and he went back into my arm. So, it kind of hype extended my elbow on my shoulder so at that point my money-maker was at jeopardy so I had to try and walk him down, make him punch so I could punch straight shots. Straight shots off of his punches, very similar to what I had to do against Demian Maia when I tore my labrum in that fight. I couldn’t throw looping overhand rights because it made me feel like my shoulder was in jeopardy. So, my left arm and my right arm and my shoulder, they were just throbbing like a motherf***er. I wanted to hit him, I ain’t going to give him my signature punch but I was going to hit him with the shot that was going to put him down and I just really couldn’t do it, to be honest. I’m like I’m not going to let this kid beat me so I’m just going forward and I’m just going to try to punch him out. I feel like I did that. I feel like I won the fight. I went back and looked at the fight — I won round four, he never won a round after that. So that’s four, five, six, seven, eight. That’s five [rounds]. How would he win the fight if it should have technically been a knockdown? He should have technically got the count, but he didn’t. How did he win the fight? I was just so confused.”
