Marshall did not disgrace herself, but Shields is on another level. The Hartlepool fighter now needs to start again and put in a sterling performance to become world champion.
Marshall gets the chance to become a world champion yet again when she battles fighter Franchon Crews-Dezurn. The American currently holds the WBC, WBO, WBA & IBF super middleweight titles.
The 36-year-old has a professional record of 10 fights, eight wins, one defeat and one no-contest. She comes into this bout on the back of a points win over Elin Cederroos. She successfully defended her WBC and WBO straps and claimed the WBA and IBF versions.
Crews-Dezurn is no mug – she is an undisputed champion – but Marshall is very savvy and will wear the American down before stopping her late on.
Back Marshall to win this by stoppage in the eighth round to become a two-weight world champion.
