Floyd Mayweather Jr comes out of retirement for the third time when he takes on You Tuber Logan Paul in an exhibition bout in Miami on June 6.
Floyd Mayweather Jr v Logan Paul Predictions & Tips
Floyd Mayweather Jr puts his reputation on the line at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on June 6 when he steps back into the ring against YouTube star Logan Paul.
When I say he is putting his reputation on the line, I don’t mean that he is at risk of tasting defeat for the first time, I mean he is at risk of becoming a laughing stock. This fight is a joke in my opinion.
There is no way that this will be anything but a farce. Mayweather has a professional record of 50-0 and has a 1-0 record in exhibition bouts after he defeated Japan’s Tenshin Nasukawa in December 2018.
Mayweather has been in the ring and beaten the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Ricky Hatton, Manny Pacquiao, Marcos Maidana, Miguel Cotto, Zab Judah and Oscar De La Hoya, and now we are expected to believe that someone like Logan Paul deserves to be in the same ring as him.
I know it’s just a publicity stunt, but as a boxing fan for over 35 years, I just can’t get on board with loudmouth wannabe celebrities thinking they can step in the ring against the big names just because they have found success talking rubbish on the internet.
I’m not against the likes of Logan Paul getting in the ring but have fights against fellow novices. Don’t jump in against the big boys, it will not end well for you.
Paul takes a great game – he might not be as obnoxious as his brother – but he is very annoying. If he thinks he will lay a glove on Mayweather, then he is deluded. I am backing Mayweather to tease him for the opening three rounds before sparking him out in round two.
Hopefully, a humiliating loss will stop these YouTube stars from calling out people who can actually fight.
