Conor Benn v Rodolfo Orozco Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions

The return of Conor Benn has sparked a lot of talk on social media on whether or not it’s the correct decision and if Matchroom Boxing and DAZN are making a mockery of the sport.

Benn failed two Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (Vada) tests in the build-up to his fight with Chris Eubank Jr last year.

He tested positive for having clomifene in his system which is a female fertility drug. Benn has always maintained his innocence, but he was provisionally banned by UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) in March.

That ban was lifted by the National-Anti Doping Panel in July. Ukad and the British Board of Boxing Control are still fighting that decision and Benn is not legally allowed to fight in the UK.

As he is not actually banned from fighting, he can fight in America and that is where he will be on September 23.

Some people feel he should not be allowed to fight, but legally he is not doing anything wrong although it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Benn is unbeaten in the ring with a professional record of 21 wins with 14 coming by way of knockout. He will be hoping to move on and prove he deserves the big fights.

It will take a while for the boxing world to warm to him again, but he will let his fighting do the talking.

He takes on Rodolfo Orozco, who has a pro record of 32 wins, three defeats and three draws with 24 of those wins coming by way of knockout.

Orozco has never fought in America before and he will not have been in the ring with someone who packs a punch like Benn.

I expect Benn to be angry and go for an early finish. He will go for the jugular right from the start and I am backing the Brit to claim a second-round knockout.

Conor Benn v Rodolfo Orozco Boxing Betting Tips & Predictions: Fighter's Predictions

Conor Benn: “I am undefeated in the ring, and in spirit. A return on Saturday is a step closer to redemption. After that, I’m putting the 147-160 divisions on notice. You are looking at a determined man with a deep desire to beat them all.”

Eddie Hearn (promoter): “Conor Benn is back and I’m looking forward to seeing him pick up where he left off. He’s ready to go straight in for a big fight now but his trainer Tony Sims will be pleased to get him back sooner against a game opponent in Rodolfo Orozco.”

Rodolfo Orozco: “This isn’t short notice for me because I’ve been preparing for this moment my entire life. You’ve made a mistake Conor, and I’ll show you that this Saturday.”
