Chantelle Cameron and Jessica McCaskill will battle it out this weekend for the right to be named the undisputed super lightweight champion of the world.
Cameron holds the IBF and WBC straps and will be looking to add the vacant IBO, WBA and WBO titles to her collection.
McCaskill is no stranger to being crowned undisputed. She is the current WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and the Ring champion at welterweight level, while she has previously held the WBC and WBA titles as the weight she will be fighting on Saturday.
Both women are amazing fighters. Do not let the fact that McCaskill is dropping down to face Cameron, the American is dangerous in any division.
This will be a brutal affair.
Cameron, whose nickname is Il Capo, is undefeated as a professional with 16 fights and 16 wins with eight coming by way of knockout.
McCaskill was defeated in her second pro fight by Katonya Fisher before going five fights undefeated. Her second loss was against Katie Taylor – no shame in that – and since then she has won seven bouts and gone from strength to strength.
Cameron is a gutsy fighter and will never back down from a fight, but ‘CasKILLA’ has beaten Cecillia Braekhus on two separate occasions – she will be very tough to beat.
I want Il Capo to win, it would be great for the Northampton-born fighter to be undisputed, but I think the American will be too clever and strong on the night.
With the rounds being two minutes long, I expect this to go the distance with McCaskill getting her arm raised in victory. It will be a brutal contest with no women taking a back seat.
