Alycia Baumgardner might be the undisputed super featherweight champion of the world, but she will feel she has a point to prove when it comes to Christina Linardatou.

These two have already met in the ring back in 2018 when Linardatou won a split decision over Baumgardner at the Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky.

That win saw Linardatou win the WBC international super featherweight belt from Baumgardner.

That defeat seemed to light a fire under Baumgardner. She has won eight consecutive fights since that defeat.

She became WBC and IBO champion in November 2021 when she brutally defeated British fighter Terri Harper. Since then, she has added the WBO, IBF and The Ring titles with a win over Mikaela Mayer and then the WBA strap when she beat Elhem Mekhaled.

This will be her first defence with the WBC, IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO and The Ring belts when she enters The Masonic Temple in Detroit on July 15.

As you can imagine, Linardatou is no mug. She has been in the ring with some big names, she has tasted defeat to Delfine Persoon and Katie Taylor but has beaten Kandi Wyatt, Deanha Hobbs and Prisca Vicot.

Baumgardner has improved since she last faced Linardatou, and I am backing her to gain some revenge and walk out of Detroit still the undisputed champion of the world.

Baumgardner has won seven fights by knockout and seven by decision, I am backing her to claim knockout number eight with an eighth-round stoppage.
