Betting on volleyball matches has never been easier and there has never been so many markets to choose from for every single match – but which markets should you be using in an attempt to make a profit?
All bookmakers will offer odds on individual match winners and it is simply a case of backing who you think will win the match.
The handicap market is very similar to the ‘Winner’ market, but in this instance you are backing a team to overcome a fictional handicap. So for example, if back a team with a -1.5 handicap you will need them to win by two sets in order for your bet to be a winner. Alternatively, if you backed a team with a +2.5 handicap, your bet will be a winner as long as your selection does not lose by three sets or more.
The Correct Score market provides customers with another way to bet on who will win the match and this market will usually offer the bigger odds than the Winner and Handicap markets because you have to be incredibly precise. For example, if you are betting on a match that is best-of-five sets there are only three possible final scores – 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2. In this market you must successfully choose the winner of the match and the final score for your bet to be a winner. This market offers an excellent way to make a tidy profit, but as I said before, the fact this bet needs two things to go your way instead of one means there is more risk involved.
Unlike the previous markets mentioned, this market has nothing to do with you betting on the outcome of the match, you are merely betting on how many sets it will take to determine a winner. The bookmakers will set the mark, for example 3.5 sets, and you will then have to determine whether or not the number of sets played will be over or under that mark.
