NBA 2K Players Tournament Predictions & Tips: What Is The NBA 2K Players Tournament?

Sports stars across the globe are taking part in virtual sporting events, so it was only a matter of time before the stars of the NBA took to the virtual court courtesy of the popular NBA 2K game. That time is now, with 16 players going head-to-head in a knockout tournament to crown the champion, with the winner receiving a $100,000 donation to give to charity.

“We are excited to tip off the first ‘NBA 2K Players Tournament’ in partnership with the NBPA (National Basketball Players Association) and 2K, continuing an ongoing effort to stay connected with NBA fans around the world, while also giving back in this time of need,” said Matt Holt, the NBA’s senior vice president of Global Partnerships.

Every player will select eight current NBA teams to play as in the game, but each player can only use a team once. Should two players opt to use the same team at the same time, the designated away team will be granted first choice. The first two rounds of the completion will be played in a single elimination format, with the semi-finals and final itself being ‘Best of Three’.

NBA 2K Players Tournament Predictions & Tips: Devin Booker To Win Tournament @ 7/2

The bookmakers have installed Devin Booker as the favourite to win it all and that makes sense because he is one of the younger players in the tournament. Booker has probably been gaming his entire life and you would imagine he will not be like us ‘old folk’ over 30 who can find ourselves fumbling for the wrong button, pressing X when we should have pressed Y. He is going to need to be brave and get using the Phoenix Suns out of the way early, but once he starts using the better teams on the game he will be a hard man to stop. The bookies are backing Booker for NBA 2K Players Tournament glory and I am backing him too.
