Coral Poker are one of the best in the business when it comes to multi table tournaments and they cater for many different bankrolls.
If you’re a high stakes punter and you like to put your money where your mouth is, the firm runs a European daily tournament which is $100 + $8 and starts at 19:00 GMT every day of the week and there is plenty of sit’n’go tournaments with a healthy sign up fee.
Players who want to take a little more care with their money can play the daily $18,000 Guaranteed which starts at 17:00 GMT.
The jewel in the Coral Poker crown is their $250,000 Guaranteed Championchip tournament which takes place every Sunday at 17:00. If you can’t qualify through one of the weekly satellites it costs $190 + $10 Freezeout.
Coral Poker also run satellites to the GSOP (Grand Series Of Poker) which continues to be one of the nation’s leading tournaments.
Players at Coral Poker can play the game in a number of different ways and although they don’t offer some of the crazy variations available at other sites, they do the simple things incredibly well.
Texas Hold’em is obviously the most popular game on the site, but they also offer Seven Card Stud, Omaha High Low and Omaha High.
For players who fancy their chances against one opponent there is Heads Up tables and for those who like to sink their teeth into something with a bit more meat there is Multi-table and Sit’n’Go tournaments.
Coral Poker generates plenty of traffic throughout the day and with it mainly being UK players heading to the rooms, it obviously gets busier in the evenings and at the weekend.
As with so many sites the focus is on limit and no limit hold'em, although pot limit Omaha continues to grow in pupulatrity.
Poker Points are accumulated by playing ring (cash) games and tournaments. Cash game Points are awarded to players at a rate of 3.25 for each dollar of rake an individual player contributes to a pot e.g. If you contribute 40% to a pot that is raked at $3 you will receive 3.9 Points (3 x 40% x 3.25 = 3.9).Your share of the awarded points will then be adjusted based on the internal strength relationship between players in that hand. If you take on less experienced opposition you can expect to collect (slightly) less points, if you go up against more experienced players, you will collect (slightly) more points.
For tournaments, Points are awarded at a rate of 5 Poker Points for each $1 of tournaments entry fee paid, e.g. if a player enters a $10 +1 tournament, they will receive 5 Points. Playing as a guest or for fun does not earn the player Poker Points.
The competition at Coral Poker is dependent on how much you’re willing to pay to play. There is plenty of cash to be made in the smaller stakes games with relatively inexperienced players bleeding chips as the pressure increases. However, as with so many on the sites the quality will improve as you move up the ladder.
