Juan Martin Del Potro and Janko Tipsarevic are into the final of ATP Delray Beach.
For Tipsarevic the match is his opportunity to end a career long title drought as the 26 year old has never lifted a championship trophy in singles play at the tour level.
For Del Potro, he'll be looking for his 8th career title and his first one since making his comeback from his 2010 wrist injury.
Del Potro and Tipsy have met just one time, in the round of 32 at ATP Miami 2009, and the match went decisively in Del Potro's favor. Like Delray Beach, Miami 2009 was a hard court event however it was nearly two years ago so perhaps the head to head history is not the proper angle to take in previewing their upcoming match.
Del Potro is the player on better form at the moment as he is into the championship match at Delray Beach having not lost a set. Tipsarevic lost a set early in the tournament to Blaz Kavcic and the Serbian has also been extended to a tiebreaker, where Del Potro has won each set he's played by at least one break.
In the semifinals both players cruised in straight sets but Del Potro had a tougher opponent in Mardy Fish as Tipsarevic dealt with the inexperienced Kei Nishikori.
