Ronnie O’Sullivan delighted snooker fans by announcing his comeback at the Crucible for the World Championship and the Rocket gets the tournament under way on Saturday morning when he takes on Marcus Campbell.

The reigning champion and his fellow Englishman will play their match to a conclusion, with the pair returning to the baize on Saturday evening, with O’Sullivan looking for his fifth Crucible crown.

Meanwhile, Michael Holt is back in Sheffield and takes on Ricky Walden on Saturday morning, while the match between Shaun Murphy and Martin Gould should also be an entertaining affair.

There’s another cracking match getting under way on Saturday afternoon when the exciting Jack Lisowski takes on Barry Hawkins, with the bookies undecided over which player should be favourite despite the latter being seeded.

Mark Williams faces a tough opener when he takes on Michael White who could be a dangerous first round opponent despite making his crucible bow in 2013.
