A number of top players are involved, including legends Jimmy White, Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry.

White and Davis come into the event on Tuesday, while seven time world champion Hendry enters the frame on Thursday and needs only one win to book his place at next year's event.

Former world champions Peter Ebdon and Ken Doherty are also involved, as well as top stars Marco Fu and Ricky Walden.

A number of young guns will be looking to qualify for the lucrative major event, such as Jack Lisowski, Sam Cragie and Luca Brecel, who all have a proven record on the PTC tour this season.

The qualifiers run from November 21-25 at the World Snooker Academy, Sheffield, with all matches played over the best of nine frames and selected games being streamed live.

The main event takes place in Berlin on the 1-5 February 2012 and features the world's top 16 players plus 16 qualifiers.
