Rory McIlroy 1/6 to represent Great Britain at Rio Olympics

Rory McIlroy has claimed that he is undecided on which nation he will represent at Rio 2016 but Paddy Power seem petty convinced that the Northern Irishman will choose Team GB.

Fresh off the back of two thumping wins on the PGA tour, most 23 year olds would have sat back, struck up a cubana and treated their supremely fit tennis pro wife to a fat steak and a bottle of red. Not Rory Mcilroy who instead was busy getting himself into a pickle about which flag to fly at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Following questions over his ‘national allegiance’, the swinging supremo can’t decide whether to represent the UK or Ireland so the helpful folk at Paddy Power has laid odds to help him make up his mind.

Paddy Power is taking bets at 1/6 that he’ll represent Team GB and 7/2 that he’ll be turning out in a green tracksuit and flying the flag for Team Ireland.

A Paddy Power spokesperson told Bettingpro:

"Tough one for Rory to call, but he's got much bigger things on his plate right now, starting with the small matter of a $10 million match then giving the yanks a good walloping in the Ryder Cup. Eitherway Mr Mcilroy we're right behind you."

Which Nation will Rory McIlroy represent at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games
1/6    Great Britain
7/2    Ireland

11/4    Rory McIlroy winning a medal in the Rio 2016 Games
7/1    Rory winning gold in the Rio 2016 Games
