Spaniard De La Riva (5/1 Tournament Winner)overcame two bogeys on the front nine as a four-under-par display on Saturday improved his total to 12-under through 54 holes, a solitary stroke ahead of Englishman Simon Khan (8/1) and Italian Matteo Manassero (7/2).
Miguel Angel Jimenez (7/1) remains in the hunt after he staged a fine recovery act on the back nine of his third round. The veteran Spaniard slipped down the leaderboard after making two bogeys over his first six holes, but he recovered after the turn as three birdies and an eagle ensured a three-under-par 69 that improved him to 10-under, where he is joined by David Lynn (12/1) and Hennie Otto (14/1).
Phillip Price (33/1), Darren Fichardt (33/1), Marcel Siem (16/1), Julien Quesne (40/1) and Raphael Jacquelin (20/1) are all nine-under, and a dramatic final day looks to be on the cards with Gregory Bourdy (40/1), Borja Etchart (66/1), Oliver Fisher (50/1), Graeme Storm (40/1), Mark Foster (40/1), Robert Rock (16/1), Damien McGrane (40/1) and Pablo Larrazabal (33/1) a short further back on eight-under.
