Grimsby Town midfielder Frankie Artus has been sidelined with a knee injury ahead of the Mariners' FA Trophy quarter-final clash with York City on Saturday.
The 23-year-old hyper extended his knee during the Blue Square Bet Premier tie at Southport and will undergo a scan on Thursday to determine the extent of the injury.
Town physio Dave Moore told the Grimsby Telegraph: "When it's swollen so much it is usually a bad sign but we'll know more after a scan.
"Hopefully, it will be good news but I think we are looking at a few weeks."
Joint boss Paul Hurst added: "Since coming into the team against Lincoln, Frankie has done really well in that (midfield) role.
"It doesn't look good at the minute and it's a blow for him and for us. But hopefully it will be positive news after the scan and he will be back sooner rather than later."
