South Africa will take on Pakistan in the fourth ODI of the series at Kingsmead in Durban.
The series has seen fluctuating fortunes for both teams with South Africa just edging ahead and taking a 2-1 lead. This was after they won the third ODI on Sunday in a high-scoring thriller.
Earlier South Africa beat Pakistan in the first ODI before exhibiting a poor batting show to go down to the tourists in the second match.
It was an exciting third match of the series. When South Africa batted they managed to pile on a score of 343/5 in their 50 overs thanks to two centuries in the innings. Hashim Amla made 122 and was helped along the way by his captain AB de Villiers who slammed an 108-ball 128 in his knock.
In reply it looked like it was going to be South Africa's game all the way given the target of 344. Despite a quick-fire half-century for Mohammad Hafeez at the top of the innings, Pakistan seemed to be out of it when they slumped to 132/5 at one stage and then lost Misbah ul Haq with the score reading 203.
Shahid Afridi was then involved in a late blitzkrieg that saw him get a 48-ball 88 which brought Pakistan close to a respectable total. However once Wahab Riaz had departed for 48, the side fell away to 309 all out and left the hosts winners.
With Mohammad Irfan injured and Umar Gul in doubt for this game, Sohail Tanvir will take over the bowling role. Irfan is suffering from a stomach bug and could miss out.
South Africa will continue to play the same line-up given that they will avoid changing too many things around.
