Till recently, Neo Sports and Neo Prime were the official broadcasters of cricket in New Zealand for the Indian viewers but gave up on the rights after the New Zealand cricket board annulled the deal.
These have now been won by Sony Six, which is also the official broadcaster of the Pakistan v Sri Lanka Test series being played in the UAE.
David White, CEO, New Zealand Cricket Board, said in a statement: "With Sony Six as partners for the series, we are assured to reach out to the fans in the best manner."
NP Singh, the CEO of Multi Screen Media said, "We are delighted to partner [with] New Zealand Cricket as the official broadcaster to this series." Multi Screen Media owns Sony Six as one of its channels.
The earlier deal between the New Zealand board and Neo Sports was for $60-70 million and for a period of seven years up to 2020. Neo Sports had won the exclusive rights to show the sport from New Zealand across Asia except West Asia, how the deal ran into problems.
