It is the Melbourne derby on Sunday in the Big Bash League 2012-13 as the Renegades take on the Stars and you can watch its live streaming for free.
The last time these two teams, Melbourne Stars and Renegades, played against each other, it was the opening game of the season. The Renegades won that match at home and clicked well from there to win four of their next five games that took them to 10 points from six.
The Stars have not done too badly themselves. While they enter this match with a defeat to their name against the Brisbane Heat, it came after a four-match winning streak. They now have eight points from six matches and need one more victory to seal a semi-final berth.
It will be a tough match, almost bordering of being a grudge game. The Renegades were said to be surprise winners over the Stars thanks to their captain Aaron Finch’s superb century in chase, a knock that had followed gamesmanship from Stars’ David Hussey in a pre-match press conference.
Interestingly, it was the same Hussey who showed disappointment at his captain Shane Warne leaving the team for one game during Christmas to be with his partner. Following his return back to the side, the Stars went down in their next game, leaving them third in the points table and with a possibility of going down further following the Adelaide-Hobart game.
Trust this to be an exciting game between two superb rivals from Melbourne and the bowling of Lasith Malinga – for the Stars – could well be a deciding factor.
