CLT20 2013 highlights - Dhoni smashes 19-ball 63

Mahendra Singh Dhoni smashed a 19-ball 63 to guide the Super Kings to a win over Hyderabad.
Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni smacked a 19-ball 63 to guide his team to a resounding win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in their Champions League t20 2013 encounter.

Suresh Raina gave Chennai the start they needed with a solid 84 off 57 balls but it was Dhoni who took the honours with an innings that knocked the stuffing out of their opponents.

The knock reached its crescendo in the 18th over of the Chennai innings, when Dhoni thrashed five sixes off Thisara Perera. The over cost Perera 34 runs, of which Dhoni smashed 32.

It started with a wide before a pitched up delivery was hit over the sight screen for a six. Perera bowled another wide before he bowled the best delivery of that over which Dhoni misconnected and got only two to mid-wicket.

The next four balls went for a six each. The third ball of the over was a full-toss and Dhoni used its pace to flick it over fine-leg.

Off the next, he sliced it inside-out over the off side to get a lot of power and distance for a six before another delivery on length was smashed over wide long-on for another biggie.

Dhoni finished off the over with a fifth six off a delivery that was short of length and was cut over third-man for another maximum to complete the misery for Perera. Interestingly, Perera had won the man of the match award last game for a fine all-round performance.

Chennai ended their innings on 202/4 and then restricted the Sunrisers to 190 in their 20 overs.
