They can be backed at 7/4 with BetFred to qualify for the semi-finals at the expense of Uruguay and Ladbrokes make it 16/5 that they win in 90-minutes on Saturday night. Uruguay will, however, be Ghana’s toughest test yet in South Africa. They have only conceded one goal so far at the World Cup and in Diego Forlan (5/1, StanJames) and Luis Suarez (11/2, Bluesq) they have one of the most formidable strike forces in the tournament. It is 11/10 (Bet365) that Uruguay beat Ghana and if they play as they have so far in South Africa, they will do so. Their defence will be weakened by the absence of Diego Godin but Ghana’s attack, Asamoah Gyan (15/2, VictorChandler) excepted, is not particularly strong. With Andre Ayew missing for Ghana and doubts over the fitness of Kevin-Prince Boateng, Uruguay should be able to dominate the midfield and retain most of the ball possession. That will allow them opportunities to probe at the Ghana defence and as previously stated, Forlan and Suarez will convert any chances that come their way. Suarez has scored 49 goals in 48 appearances for Ajax and the talented young striker has netted three in four in South Africa. He is once again over-priced by PaddyPower, at 21/10, to find the net at any time during Saturday’s match, so back him to score in a Uruguay win.
