Novak Djokovic was crowned the champion of Wimbledon 2011 and the new world number is the hot favourite to win Wimbledon 2012, with online bookmaker bet365 making Djokovic 2/1 to retain his title next year.
Nadal is, however, not being underestimated by the bookies, with the Spaniard, who has now appeared in five Wimbledon finals, co-favourite, also at 2/1.
bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth “Djokovic leads on the slam front in 2011 and fully deserved his victory over Nadal at Wimbledon, but the Spaniard holds favouritism due to his amazing record at Roland Garros.”
“Either way, their domination looks like continuing into 2012.”
Six times Wimbledon champion Roger Federer will, of course, be a lively contender at the home of tennis and his Wimbledon 2012 odds are currently 4/1. Even although the Swiss was knocked out at the quarter final stage this year, he will be a popular bet next summer.
Another player sure to prove popular in the Wimbledon 2012 betting is British number one Andy Murray. The Scot has now reached the semi finals at the All England Club for the last three years and he surely can't be far away from that elusive first ever Grand Slam victory.
