Federer has proved over the past fortnight that he's very much still a major title contender. Novak Djokovic had won their past three matches but Federer hit back on Friday with another key victory in their ongoing rivalry and it gives him the chance to win a seventh Wimbledon title.

Murray acknowledges that Federer is the favourite given his experience on the big stage and he was happy to try and take some of the pressure off himself when he spoke to the media after beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

"I'm probably not expected to win the match, but it is one that, if I play well, I'm capable of winning," he said. "His (Roger's) record here has been incredible, so the pressure will be less on me because of who he is. The last couple of years his record in the slams has been, you know, to me unbelievable. Like I said here, the matches that he's lost, he was up two sets to nothing, was it both times he lost maybe? I'm not hundred percent sure, but he was up two sets to love against Tsonga last year."

"He's lost some close matches in the Slams the last few years, but he had match points against Novak at the US Open in the last two years in a row. I don't think, if you look at the way he played today (Friday), you can't say he's past it or because he's 30 he's playing worse tennis. I just think the players around have got better."

Murray leads 8-7 on the head-to-head against Federer but it was the Swiss who won their only match so far this year, 7-5, 6-4 in the Dubai final at the start of March.
