Third round action commences in the WTA Rogers Cup 2012 on Friday after the completion of the last three second round matches.
Top seeded Victoria Azarenka will look to get on court for her second round match against Tamira Paszek before the winner of this match takes on Carla Suárez Navarro in the third round. Navarro surprised the 15th seeded Sabine Lisicki in her previous encounter.
The remaining two second round matches will resume from where they were left off overnight. Sixth seeded Angelique Kerber plays Ekaterina Makarova, leading her by a set to none, while seventh seeded Caroline Wozniacki also resumes from a set lead against qualifier Kiki Bertens.
The winner of the Kerber-Makarova match takes on Roberta Vinci, who blanked Ana Ivanovic 6-0, 6-0 in the second round and one of Wozniacki or Bertens will play Varvara Lepchenko in their third round match.
First up on centre court on Friday will be fifth seeded Petra Kvitova who plays ninth seeded Marion Bartoli, while Lucie Safarova will be up against fourth seeded Samantha Stosur in another third round match on the National Bank court.
