Ivan Dodig looks good value to beat Nikolay Davydenko in the men's singles, while Aravane Rezai can eliminate Flavia Pennetta from the women's draw.
It was a fantastic start to the US Open 2011 for this column on Monday, as both of my individual recommended bets won with ease.
Marcel Granollers brushed aside Xavier Malisse in straight sets at a handy 2.34, before Heather Watson cruised through the first set against Maria Sharapova to land a 1.18 lay.
In addition to that, one of my 'five potential first round upsets', Alejandro Falla, also won at a big price of 7.0 to put the icing on the cake on Day 1.
Only Kei Nishikori's mid-match retirement cost us a clean sweep of bets and Tuesday offers more profit opportunities.
On the men's side, I'm going for another underdog in the form of Ivan Dodig, who is a very backable 2.28 on
betfair to inflict more pain upon the on-the-slide Nikolay Davydenko.
The Russian former world number three's form has tailed off to the point where he's down at number 39 in the rankings and hasn't won consecutive matches since the end of April.
His hard-court swing has been woeful, with a string of error-ridden straights sets defeats and he has looked ill at ease with his formerly reliable clean-hitting game.
Dodig on the other hand will bring the confidence of a win over Rafa Nadal to the court and that in itself could be too much for the shattered belief of the Russian.
This will be the pair's first career meeting and if Dodig has recovered from the injury that led to his retirement in Cincy, the world number 33 should be too strong for Davydenko.
On the women's side on Tuesday, I like the look of another value pick - Aravane Rezai at 2.36 to defeat Flavia Pennetta.
Rezai's problems have been well documented this year, but she bounced back to form in style in Dallas last week by reaching the final there before losing to Sabine Lisicki and she should be buzzing about her chances in this one.
Pennetta by way of contrast has won just two of her six matches in the hard-court swing and she won't be looking forward to meeting a confident Rezai here.
The French player can be a destructive opponent when on form, as she proved by beating Pennetta 6-3, 6-0 in the pair's only hard-court meeting in Sydney last year. It's worth backing her to carry last week's form through to New York.
