Novak Djokovic is in action today against Viktor Troicki
All-Serbian clash in the first round of the 2010 US Open
Bet on Djokovic v Troicki in-play at Bet365
Novak Djokovic is the third seed for this year’s US Open and the Serb is one of a number of players with real hopes of winning the final Grand Slam of the season.
He faces compatriot Viktor Troicki in the first round at Flushing Meadows and should have no problems beating a player whose game he knows inside out.
Djokovic and Troicki grew up together and have experience of playing doubles together. The world number 3 in one of the worst draws for Troicki, who has lost his last four matches against Djokovic and seems to have something of a mental block when up against his friend.
It is 1/7 at Coral that Djokovic wins this afternoon and 3/4 at Totesport that he does so in straight sets. The 23-year-old does, however, have a bad habit of dropping sets in early rounds of major tournaments, so the better bet is to back him to win, when giving away 6.5 games, which is available at 5/6 with Blue Square.
That line allows for a straight sets win for Djokovic, but also lets him drop a set and come back, as long as he can get a double break at least once.
Recommendation
Match Handicap (-6.5 Games) – Novak Djokovic (5/6, Blue Square)
