World Snooker Championship quarter final preview

Ding through to quarter final against Selby
On Tuesday, we enter the quarter final stage of the 2011 World Snooker Championship and we look ahead to four exciting matches.

Judd Trump v Graeme Dott, starts Tuesday 10am
Trump has played some excellent snooker in both matches and has an entertaining style of play which has won him lots of fans. The bookmakers have the 22-year-old as slight favourite to win the game, with Sportingbet offering a best price 17/20 about Judd claiming a place in the semi-finals.

However, some will fancy the 11/10 that Ladbrokes have about a Dott success. The Pocket Dynamo has a wealth of Crucible experience compared to his opponent and this could count for a great deal if the match is a close one.

Mark Williams v Mark Allen, starts Tuesday 10am
Williams is about to become the world number one and his performances at the Crucible have demonstrated why he is one of the favourites to win the 2011 World Snooker Championship. He is a best price 2/5 with William Hill to beat Allen after making short work of Ryan Day and Jamie Cope.

Allen beat both Matthew Stevens and Barry Hawkins on a deciding frame and the northern Irishman is available at 12/5 with Skybet to win this quarter final. He will need to improve his standard of play to stand any chance.

Ronnie O’Sullivan v John Higgins, starts Tuesday 2.30pm
This is clearly the match of the round, with the two players boasting five world titles between themselves. O’Sullivan survived a spirited comeback from Shaun Murphy to win 13-10 on Monday night and is an even money chance with Betfred to beat the Wizard of Wishaw.

Meanwhile, Higgins was a relatively comfortable winner against Rory McLeod and will be looking to raise the bar against an opponent with dangerous potting ability. Paddy Power made Ronnie slight favourite and have the Scot at even money.

Mark Selby v Ding Junhui, starts Tuesday 2.30pm
Mark Selby produced the best snooker of the 2011 World Snooker Championship to beat Stephen Hendry and the Jester from Leicester is now the favourite to win the tournament, with Betfred offering an initial 4/7 about a player that won his second round match 13-4.

However, Ding Junhui has the ability to go all the way in this tournament and Betfred have a tempting 11/8 that the Chinaman reaches his first semi-final at the Crucible after an amazing 13-12 win over Stuart Bingham.
