Mark Selby new 7/2 favourite to win World Championships

Mark Selby is the 7/2 favourite to win the World Championships
'The Jester' holds a 12-1 lead over 7-times world champion Stephen Hendry in the second round at the Crucible

Mark Selby is the new 7/2 favourite with the sponsors for the Betfred.com World Snooker Championship after building a 12-4 lead over Stephen Hendry in their second-round match.

‘The Jester’ needs only one more frame to reach the last eight after setting a new Crucible record of six century breaks in a single match.

Betfred spokesman Jon Wilde told Bettingpro:

“Selby is looking every bit a potential champion, not just with his break-building but the way he obtained four snookers to ensure his overnight lead was 12-4 instead of 11-5. His determination is clear and he is increasingly becoming the man to beat.”

Ronnie O’Sullivan is 4/1 to win a fourth world title but had his advantage over Shaun Murphy cut to two frames as the 2005 champion hit back to trail 9-7.
