The pair have won numerous major ranking titles between them including the World Championship, the UK Championship and the Masters and are the two favourites to pick up the £75,000 first prize in this event.

They will also be out to lay down a marker and build up momentum ahead of the World Championships at the Crucible next month.

Robertson produced fine displays in seeing off youngster Jack Lisowski and veteran Joe Perry 4-1 to reach the semis and will be marginal favourite to go a step further due to his clinical all round game.

The Australian ace boasts the joint highest break of the tournament so far with a 131 in his Quarter-Final match.

Maguire has recaptured his top form over the past few months and won through to this stage with wins over Mark Davis and Ricky Walden.

The Scot avoided defeats in both matches, recovering to beat Mark Davis 4-2 despite trailing 2-0 and winning a tense last frame decider against Walden.

He reached the German Masters final last month and is one of the game's deadliest break-builders.

The duo have met eight times in the later end of major ranking events, with Maguire taking five victories. Robertson however has won the last two in the 2009 World Championships and PTC 2 this season.

The winner will face either Stephen Lee or Andrew Higginson in the final at 8pm on Sunday evening.

The match begins at approximately 2pm and will be streamed live over the best of seven frames from the Bailey Allen Hall in Galway, Ireland.
