The Rocket has powered back to something near his best form in Berlin this week, staging two notable fightbacks and showcasing his top break-building ability.

Despite admitting to feeling the symptoms of glandular fever, the Rocket has revived his top 16 chances with a much needed run to the final.

Former UK champion Maguire has also taken the tournament by storm, dropping just five frames en route to the final, including victories over Judd Trump as well as sensational whitewashes of world champions John Higgins and Shaun Murphy.

He, like O'Sullivan, has looked clinical when in among the balls, making the stage set for a thrilling final in front of a packed German crowd.

Both Semi-Finals were watched by record crowds of 2,500 inside the Tempodrom, with further encouraging signs that the game is reaching a new European audience.

Three-time world champion O'Sullivan has the better record of the two, winning nine of their 11 meeting in total, including their most notable encounter 10-2 in the 2007 UK Championship final.

The bookmakers make Ronnie the firm favourite to pick up the title this evening at 4/6, with Maguire priced at 6/5 with Bet365.
