The Rocket currently tops the Players Tour Championship order of merit after he won the first event in June.

He faces 20 year-old Nick Jennings in round one, who came through two qualifying rounds to reach this stage.

Should O'Sullivan prevail, he could face Crucible King Stephen Hendry in round two, in a potentially mouthwatering clash.

So far, big names including Ding Junhui, Graeme Dott and Shaun Murphy have all booked their places in the next round, however The Rocket will be looking to avoid a banana skin similar to the one suffered by world number one Mark Williams yesterday.

The event will be the final warm-up before the new Premier League season gets underway in Skegness in less than two weeks time, in which O'Sullivan will attempt to retain his title.

The Essex cueman is expected to go far in the PTC event and if he displays the right mindset is capable of dismantling any opponent.

The match will be streamed live online and will be the best of seven frames.
