Mark Williams now favourite to win 2011 World Snooker Championship

Williams now 7/2 favourite for title
Mark Williams beats Mark Allen 13-5 in the quarter final of their World Snooker Championship match and is now favourite with Betfred

Mark Williams wasted little time in winning his quarter final match on Wednesday morning, beating Mark Allen 11-5, a scoreline which we predicted at odds of 20/1

Williams now goes through to the semi-final where he will face either John Higgins or Ronnie O’Sullivan and sponsors Betfred make him the 7/2 favourite to land the 2011 World Snooker Championship.

Mark Williams (Wal) 13-5 Mark Allen (NI)

73-66 (re-spotted black), 73-59, 7-123 (78), 125-0 (125), 111-5, (78), 70-60 (66, 60), 23-115 (100), 0-111 (102), 88-36 (80), 50-19, 66-45, 86-26 (80), 51-82, 59-11, 116-0 (104), 113-22 (113), 68-26 (61) 75-30 (58).

Williams was always in the driving seat after winning the opening two frames of the match, with the Welshman now having a chance to relax and watch Higgins and O’Sullivan battle it out long into the night.
