Mark Selby booked his place in the final of the 2011 Shanghai Masters with a sensational 6-0 drubbing of Mark King.

The result means the Jester has reached three finals in as many months and will be looking to continue his winning streak.

He won the Wuxi Classic title in China before following up with a win at the recent Paul Hunter Classic PTC 4 event, rising to number two in the world and establishing himself as the most consistent player on the tour of late.

He began the final with a 60 break to take frame one, and cashed in to double the lead after King failed to sink the penultimate red.

The Leicester cueist stormed into a 4-0 lead at the interval after securing two scrappy frames.

There was no way back for King as he missed the final yellow for his opponent to step in and go one away.

The rout was completed when Selby made a 71 to confirm a 6-0 scoreline and book his place in Sunday's final. 

"It was a strange match. I didn't score that well but I played solid and didn't make many mistakes," said twice Masters champion Selby.

"Whether I play Mark Williams or Neil Robertson tomorrow, it's going to be a tough game. I'll just try to enjoy it and give it my best."

Selby, who was 13/2 prior to the tournament, awaits his opponent from the second semi-final at 12.45pm, with the final to be played over two sessions on Sunday.
