World finalist Judd Trump enters the Premier League this week when he takes on Welsh potting machine Mark Williams in Weston-Super-Mare.

Trump has made a poor start to the ranking season, losing in the first round of both majors in Australia and Shanghai, despite winning a PTC event.

Williams has also produced varied form; he reached the final of the Shanghai Masters, only to lose in a disputed last frame to Mark Selby.

His failure to make an impact on the PTC tour has seen him occupy 103rd position, with only two wins from four events.

His first week in this season's Premier League however saw him pick up victory in Guildford, with wins over Jimmy White and Shaun Murphy.

He will be looking to challenge for what would be his first ever Premier League crown this year, as will his opponent Trump, who appeared as a wildcard entry in the 2009 event.

The venue is the closest to Trump's hometown of Bristol and the young star is expecting a tough test tonight.

"It should be a great match, I know how good a player Mark is," said Trump. "He's really had a great couple of seasons and rediscovered his form."

"I like the way he plays. He's an attacking player like me, so hopefully we can both perform on the night," he added.

Williams is 8/13 favourite with Bet365, as opposed to Trump, who may offer value at 6/5.

The match begins at 7.30pm and will be streamed live over the best of five frames under the 20 second shot clock rule.
