Judd Trump beats Ding Junhui 17-15 in the World Snooker Championship semi-finals and will play John Higgins or Mark Williams in the final

Before the start of the 2011 World Snooker Championship, Judd Trump declared that he could win the tournament and that people should avail themselves of the 40/1 that was available with sponsors Betfred at the time.

Wind the clock forward a fortnight and the youngster from Bristol has just reached the final after defeating Ding Junhui 17-15 in the semi-final after a pulsating match against the Chinaman.

Stan James now make Judd Trump a 5/4 chance to land the 2011 World Snooker Championship, something which would be an incredible achievement considering that this the 21-year-old has only been to the Crucible once before – in 2007.

Trump will have the chance to relax on Saturday evening and watch the match between Mark Williams and John Higgins unfold, although he will feel confident of beating either player considering the form and confidence that he has at the moment.

World Championship odds
John Higgins - 6/5 with Betfred
Judd Trump - 5/4 with Stan James
Mark Williams - 5/1 with Betfred
