John Higgins thought Ronnie O’Sullivan was going to win quarter final

John Higgins now favourite to win world title
John Higgins delighted to have drawn level at 8-8 before going on to beat Ronnie O’Sullivan by a 13-10 scoreline

John Higgins is through to the quarter final of the 2011 World Snooker Championship, although he admitted that he expected to be knocked out by Ronnie O’Sullivan after the Rocket held a commanding 8-5 lead.

Even so, the Wizard of Wishaw took advantage of his opponents’ mistakes to win 13-10 and book his place in the semi-final of the tournament against Mark Williams. It will be the third time that the players have met at this stage of the World Championship and the Welshman has won both matches so far.
