Jimmy White is one match away from reaching the Shanghai Masters with Jamie Jones the only man standing in his way.

The Shanghai Masters is a professional ranking snooker tournament and will take place between 17–23 September 2012 at the Shanghai Grand Stage, Shanghai, China.

Before that, however, there has to be a qualifying stage and that is taking place right now at the World Snooker Academy, Sheffield, England.

The fourth and final qualifying round takes place on Friday with all the winners advancing to the main draw of the Shanghai Masters in September.

Fans favourite White will be hoping and praying that he is in that draw.

White put in a sterling effort to dispose of Michael White on Thursday 5-1 after the latter had defeated Tony Drago in the previous round.

Jones is currently ranked 33rd in the world and White will be fully aware that he needs to be on top his game to make it through.

The betting market for his Shanghai Masters Qualifying clash sees Jones the favourite at 8/13 with Bet365, while the ‘Whirlwind’ is on offer at 6/5.
