The 2012 German Masters Snooker draw for the qualifying rounds has been made.

The popular ranking event will be played at the superb Tempodrom venue in Berlin from February 1-5 next year, with the qualifiers running from November 22-25 at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.

The tournament features a field of 32 players, comprimising of the world's top 16 and a further 16 qualifiers to make up the full draw next month.

The top 16 seeds will each face a qualifier in the first round proper. A number of potential classic last 16 matches are in prospect should the seeds progress.

Three times world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan could face Ali Carter, with young guns Judd Trump and Mark Allen also on a collision course.

Mark Selby and Graeme Dott are paired in the same bracket, as are world champion John Higgins and his fellow Scot Stephen Maguire.

Promising youngsters Jack Lisowski and Sam Cragie meet in the first qualifying round, with legend Jimmy White facing Matthew Couch.

The Nugget Steve Davis looks to take his improving form into the qualifiers, as he prepares to take on Joe Meara in Sheffield.

Mark Williams goes into the tournament as defending champion, after beating Mark Selby 9-7 in last year's final in front of a crowd of 2,500.
