This afternoon Jamie Cope faces Peter Ebdon, with both players coming into the match off the back of three wins yesterday. Ebdon defeated Mark Williams, Ricky Walden and Neil Robertson, whilst Cope was victorious against Walden, Dave Harold and Barry Hawkins.
Ebdon, as the higher ranked player, will be expected to win, however, Cope will pose a tough test for the 39-year-old former World Champion, and if he wins his match with Robertson earlier in the day, will have the momentum, which could wing the tie in his favour.
In the other live match, Ricky Walden, who lost three of his four matches yesterday, will be looking to salvage both points and pride against Dave Harold.
Harold beat Ebdon in the day’s final match, and will take confidence from that, although three defeats in his three previous matches yesterday suggest that he is not firing on all cylinders.
