Bookies taking no chances with Neil Robertson

Neil Robertson has set his sights on winning next year's Betfred.com World Snooker Championship after his impressive Grand Prix success and bookmakers are taking no chances with the Australian.

Robertson beat Gerard Greene, Ken Doherty, Joe Perry and reigning world champion John Higgins to reach the final in Glasgow before taking out Ding Junhui 9-4 in the decider.

The pair were locked at 4-4 but after Robertson battled to victory in a tense ninth frame he stormed clear in the later stages at the Kelvin Hall.

"I've won the Grand Prix twice now, which is our third-biggest ranking event, and I'd like to win one of the UK, Masters and World Championship to put myself up there as a top player," Robertson told worldsnooker.com.

And Coral reacted by cutting the 27-year-old from 25/1 to 12/1 to achieve that dream at the Crucible next April and May.

"Robertson has proved his form by beating the game's best and with a provisional world ranking of No 3 right now, he will be one of the main challengers in Sheffield," said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.

Sponsors Betfred trimmed the Melbourne-born star from 16/1 to 14/1, which is now the best price you'll get for him to land the big one.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is 7/2 there to prevail in Yorkshire and Higgins, who pushed Robertson to a deciding frame in their Scotland semi, is 8/1 to retain his title.

Ding, who ended a run of 38 months without a ranking semi-final, is 16/1 at best with the sponsors for Crucible glory.
