New South Wales host Queensland in State of Origin Game 2 at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney knowing a win will see them go to Brisbane at the start of July for the decider - defeat in Sydney will see Queensland win their seventh consecutive series.

Head coach Ricky Stuart will hand an Origin debut to Penrith Panther prop forward Tim Grant, while Manly Sea Eagles second rower Anthony Watmough earns a recall.

Grant replaces the unimpressive Jamie Buhrer, who only played seven minutes in Game 1, while Watmough is back in favour in place of the injured Tony Williams.

Grant is the surprise inclusion to the team and will start in the number eight jersey allowing captain Paul Gallen to move back to his favoured position of loose forward.

Five-eighth Todd Carney, who also had a poor game in the opener in Melbourne, has kept his place and all eyes will once again be on him as the Blues must win this one.
