St Helens head into their sixth consecutive Super League Grand Final as slight favourites when they take on Leeds Rhinos at Old Trafford.

The play-off system has made intriguing viewing and for the first time ever no team that finished either first or second after the weekly rounds have made it through to the Grand Final.

St Helens finished third overall, while the Rhinos were way down in fifth - but they have bounced back and fought hard to reach the Old Trafford showdown on Saturday.

Saints, who have lost their last four Grand Finals, defeated fierce rivals and defending Champions Wigan Warriors on two occasions to get to Old Trafford and can be backed at 8/13 with BetFred to lift the trophy they last collected in 2006.

Leeds Rhinos are the only team to win the Super League Grand Final on three successive occasions and they will be looking to win their fourth in five years and are on offer at 11/8.

These two have had to work hard over recent weeks and fatigue may be a factor, but also they are two top class sides and could effectively cancel each other so go for a draw after 80 minutes at 18/1 with Bet365.

It is very hard to split them ahead of kick-off but a good bet to get on would be Leeds with a two point start at even money with Stan James.

William Hill have opened a special market especially for the Grand Final and it involves Saints’ points machine Jamie Foster. The firm have odds of 5/2 that the wingman kicks six or more goals at Old Trafford.

Foster has been in fine form with the boot for St Helens and has even chipped in with some tries this season and he can be backed at 9/1 with Ladbrokes to grab the first try, although Leeds have a handy winger in their ranks as well with Ryan Hall and at the same price he is worth the gamble.

One of the biggest accolades in rugby league is the Harry Sunderland Trophy, an award given out to the man of the match in every Grand Final, and if Leeds are on song and manage to beat Saints then Kevin Sinfield will not be far away from taking home an extra piece of silverware, the Rhinos skipper can be backed at 7/1 with Paddy Power.

St Helens booked their place in the Grand Final thanks to two victories, away and home, against Wigan, while the Rhinos have done it even harder with wins over Hull FC, Huddersfield Giants and League Leaders Warrington Wolves.
