Heineken Cup Quarter finals betting preview

Related Articles

The pool stages are over and progressing are teams from Ireland, England, Wales and France. It’s a couple of months until the 10th April Heineken cup quarter finals but Paddy Power (£30 free) have already released their odds. And they’re predicting some VERY close matches.

Cardiff Blues v Toulouse
France's last representative in this year’s Heineken cup face Welsh hopefuls in this quarter final. Paddy Power have given near odds to both teams, though Toulouse are the slight favourites. You can get early odds of 4/5 for Toulouse to win (Paddy Power) and 21/20 for Cardiff blues to win (Paddy Power). If you’re forecasting a draw then bet early with betfair to get massive 21/1 odds.

Harlequins v Leinster
This all Irish tie sees Harlequins take on Leinster. Harlequins have put the shakes behind them and are finding good form, not that that’s affected Paddy Powers odds, they can’t see which Irish team will get to the semi’s and are offering 10/11 for either team to win. There’s also early value for predicting a draw at 21/1 from betdaq and 20/1 from Paddy Power and if I was to bet on any quarter final to result in a draw it’d probably be this one.

Leicester v Bath
Leicester face Bath in an all English Quarter final. Leicester are favourites and look a good bet at 4/6 from Paddy Power.  Bath are in the headlines for all the wrong reasons at the moment, but you have to look past that and see that they’re still a fine rugby team. At 5/4 (Paddy Power) Bath are certainly worth an early punt. Again betdaq are offering 21/1 odds for a draw.

Munster v Ospreys
This quarter final looks to be the most one sided of the matches. Munster are favourites to reach the final and win at a temting 11/4 from Extrabet. First Munster will ahve to get past Ospreys, a task that bookmakers are predicting won’t be too tough. You can back Munster to beat the Ospreys at 4/11 (Paddy Power) and whilst it’s likely that Munster will win you won’t get much value at those odds. Ospreys could be good to back early for an upset, after all odds of 9/4 are pretty good indeed and anything can happen in knockout tournaments. Betfair are offering 23/1 for a draw.
